About

Hi, I’m Nozhan.

I’m an iOS engineer with a passion for building thoughtful, polished software. Over the past several years I’ve worked professionally with Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, and Apple’s ecosystem, shipping production applications used by tens of thousands of people. I enjoy solving difficult engineering problems just as much as refining the small details that make an app feel effortless to use.

Programming, for me, sits at the intersection of engineering and craftsmanship. I like understanding how things work beneath the surface—whether that’s optimizing rendering performance, designing maintainable architectures, writing reusable libraries, or exploring lower-level graphics APIs. Clean code, good abstractions, and developer experience matter to me as much as the final product.

What I work on

Most of my experience is in native Apple development, including:

  • Swift & Swift Concurrency
  • UIKit & SwiftUI
  • Combine
  • AVFoundation & Core Image
  • Metal & GPU-accelerated image processing
  • StoreKit
  • Core Data
  • Performance profiling with Instruments
  • Dependency Injection and SOLID architecture
  • CI/CD with Fastlane

Beyond app development, I enjoy building developer tools and reusable packages. I like creating libraries that make other developers’ lives a little easier, whether that’s simplifying animations, improving architecture, or experimenting with new ideas.

Lately I’ve also been expanding into backend development with Vapor, GraphQL, and Telegram bot development. I enjoy understanding systems end-to-end rather than staying confined to a single platform.

Philosophy

I care about software that ages well.

Features come and go, but good architecture, readable code, and thoughtful APIs continue paying dividends years later. I try to write software that’s pleasant to maintain—not just pleasant to demo.

I’m also a believer in continuous learning. Technology changes quickly, and that’s part of what keeps this field exciting. Every project is an opportunity to discover a better pattern, a cleaner abstraction, or a new perspective.

Outside of code

When I’m away from the keyboard, I’m usually creating something.

I’ve been playing the piano for most of my life, and music remains one of my favorite creative outlets. More recently I discovered knitting and crochet, and I enjoy making garments by hand—there’s something deeply satisfying about building tangible things stitch by stitch.

I’m also a coffee enthusiast, enjoy cooking, and love long drives, mountain roads, and quiet forests. Those slower moments are often where my best ideas come from.

Looking ahead

My long-term goal is to grow into a well-rounded software engineer who can comfortably move between client applications, backend systems, developer tooling, and open source.

I’m particularly interested in developer experience, graphics programming, language design, and building software that people genuinely enjoy using.

Whether it’s a production app, a Swift package, or an experimental side project, I try to leave every codebase a little cleaner than I found it.
